Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Forgement, how it works, and what to expect.
Forgement is a development system for measurable skill growth and lifelong mastery. It helps people develop with intention through guided pathways, mentorship, accountability, and verified progress, with every verified skill building a permanent Development Record. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is our first fully developed discipline, but the framework is built to support any field where mentorship and measurable growth matter.
BJJ is a discipline with deep, structured progression, which makes it an ideal first implementation and a clear example of what every Forgement pathway can become. It demonstrates how guided development, mentorship, and verification work together, while we actively research and build additional disciplines.
No. Forgement is currently available as an open beta, and it is free for both practitioners and mentors. Anyone may create an account and begin developing today, starting with our fully built Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu discipline.
No. Forgement pathways are development tools designed to provide structure and guidance. Completion of a Forgement pathway does not guarantee promotion, rank advancement, certification, or qualification. Advancement decisions remain solely at the discretion of an instructor, mentor, academy, organization, or governing body.
Forgement pathways are developmental frameworks developed through a combination of personal experience, artificial intelligence-assisted research, and consultation with experienced professionals and practitioners within the field. These pathways are intended to support growth and development rather than serve as official certification or promotion requirements.
This functionality is in active development and will allow mentors, instructors, academies, and organizations to build and share custom development frameworks tailored to their students and communities.
Forgement is designed from the beginning to support any discipline where mentorship and measurable development matter. Additional disciplines are already being researched and actively developed, with future areas potentially including other martial arts, fitness, executive protection, leadership, skilled trades, healthcare, military training, and professional certifications, among many others.
